1 Corinthians 2:2-5

2For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 3I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, 4and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.

Why? It is a great question. The idea for this website was started in 2011. However, life is busy, so its coming to fruition now. Over the past 16 years I have worked in military ministry. I need to become more purposeful in keeping my pastoral skills and personal development sharp. As an outgrowth of this desire, I also want to be helpful to those who follow Christ.

This website and resources are not meant to take the place of a local church body. A Christian's primary teacher is the Holy Spirit through the Word of God in the local church. The secondary teacher and authority for a Christian rests in the local church and pastors. This is the structure that has been set up by God and glorifies Him and Jesus Christ, the head of the church. So this site is meant to provide teaching and resources for both believers and pastors/counselors. It is not meant to replace or supersede the God ordained authorities found in the local church.

As Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians, "I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified." This is a personal imperative for me. Much of what I share here will come from my walk with Christ. Much will be gathered from others who are more seasoned than I am. All will be meant to glorify Christ and help Christians walk faithfully with Him.

Our faith relies on the "power of God." He provides all we need to be faithful in our walk with Him. As you grow and serve, I hope this blog can serve as a conduit for encouragement and care for you as you rest in Christ.

My intention is to post various things I have found helpful. You may interact with each post by sending a note through the contact link. I look forward to seeing your comments.
